It's not just an ordinary heat wave ... it's a killer! The temperature reached 115F this afternoon in Silicon Valley. We spent 2.5 hours in an air-conditioned movie theatre watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (it was not too bad actually!) ... and the car thermometer read 115F when we came out! So, all knitting activities had to be suspended! Actually, we are checking into a hotel room tonight. I'm not sure if we would have internet connection there, so just have a short post before we leave.
How was your weekend? Did you stay cool?

Oh my goodness that is HOT HOT HOT! YUCK! Glad to be in Iowa today. :0) We had a couple days in the high 90s but nothing like you're having. Hope that you can retreat inside to airconditioning to knit!
Hotel air conditioning = very good idea!
oh my! That's insane. And here I was whining about my 98 degrees last week.
One hint to stay cool without a hotel -- get a waterbed. We turn the heater on it way down in the summer (when we lived in San Antonio we'd turn it completely off) and no matter how hot it is in the house, the bed is COLD and I need a blanket to wrap up in. Conversely, in the winter, we turn the heater up on the bed and we stay warm no matter how cold it is in the house.
It was HOT! And we don't have A/C which really sucked. I take it you don't either, hence the hotel room. Maybe I should just suck it up and get a unit A/C.
It was so hot, the hubby went to see Pirates while I went to a cafe and knit in the cool cool air conditioning with a frozen drink in hand. Nothing beats a frozen drink on a hot day!
We are now 33c or 34c and are already complaining. Good luck, stay cool!
Hope it has cooled off there! Having to sacrifice both knitting and internet is so cruel....
A hotel sounds like a good idea. We aren't that hot around here, but we are definitely warm, we've finally cooled down to about 90 for the high today.
We went and saw that movie this weekend too. We loved it, but then we are fans of the first one too. It was a good mental time waster.
Oh dear, Agnes, it sounds bad. I really hope it cools down soon!
Oh my goodness, and I thought it's hot over here without our lousy 105F! I don't have an idea how you manage to survive in that heat, this must be a killer! I really, really hope it'll cool down over there soon - stay cool somehow till then!
Sending cool thoughts your way! I love the tank and I do love the book. I'm seriously looking at the Hex Coat, but man, it's really got to cool off before I even think about ordering yarn for it!
115??? That is some serious hot. I feel for you: We're having high temps here as well and all desire to knit is gone. Stay cool!
You're kidding! I don't think we got that hot but it was near 100. We considered going to a hotel too ...
